Double Trouble!
This morning Landon wore Lofton's first Easter outfit to church, which is also one of my all time favorite outfits. Lofton had his nine month picture taken in it. I couldn't resist finding a picture of Lofton wearing it.

Mom!
You know your child is growing up when he or she starts calling you "Mom"! Lofton has been calling me mom a lot lately. In fact, when Landon is bothering him, Lofton draws out my name. He says, "Mooooom!" Can't you just here it? We've all said it in the same tone to our own mothers.
I like momma much better, but I will settle for mom over Carmen because today one of his friends came running down the stairs saying, "Carmen, can we play video games?" And Lofton said, "Yeah, Carmen. Can we?" He is going to be a teenager before I know it.

Happy Easter!
Lofton loves Easter, as he does just about any holiday, especially those in which he receives presents. We all have enjoyed the moments leading up to Easter as well. Both boys loved visiting the bunny earlier in the week, and Lofton couldn't wait to decorate eggs, which we did on Saturday. As soon as his eggs were finished, he wanted to have an egg hunt, and since it was so cold, we did it indoors. Luckily, we only decorated six eggs, so I easily kept track of them, and I won't have to worry about finding any in June!
A friend of mine told me that growing up she and her family left carrots out for the Easter bunny, and I love starting traditions, so I thought we would do the same, but Phillip decided to make the bunny carrot cake instead. Lofton decided to leave the Easter bunny a bunny cookie that we had made, and he couldn't resist a bite of it as he put it and the baskets out for the bunny. This morning he woke bright and early to find his basket. I hate that Easter is already over, but as Lofton says, "Next is my (his) birthday party." Actually, Landon's is first, but shortly after Lofton and Phillip will both celebrate their birthdays, and to Lofton's excitement enjoy more presents!

Spring Has Sprung!
Well, today is the first day of spring, and we took advantage of the spring like weather. This morning Lofton's class had their Easter party. Once again, Landon thoroughly enjoyed the lunch portion of the party; he had a ham and roll and a yogurt. Lofton actually ate well too. After lunch Mrs. Teri took the class out to the Easter egg hunt, which actually is just an Easter egg pick up. Lofton really enjoyed it, and he found a gold colored egg and got excited because last Sunday at our church Easter egg hunt, Lofton found the golden egg, and he won a special prize. Today's golden egg was not a prize egg, but he was not disappointed.
When we got home, we continued to enjoy the weather, and we played outside from about 1:00 until 6:00. Lofton enjoyed "blocking Landon in" with all of our riding toys; yes, all seven of those riding things are ours. Sad huh?

Landon is 11 months old!
Landon turned eleven months old today! We celebrated by going to the mall to have our picture made with the Easter bunny. I thought that Landon would be afraid, but he just gave the bunny that look that says, "Who do you think you are?"
Landon is jabbering more now than he was last month, and he loves to cruise around furniture. He can give some slobbery kisses, and he wants to do what all the other kids are doing. Ella took him for a ride today in Jude's jeep, and he thought he was big stuff.

Look What I Can Do!
Landon finally realized that he can walk behind the Leap Frog walker. We have been trying to get him to do it for a month. Yeah, Landon.

Saturday Snow
It is hard to believe, but we actually got quite a bit of snow last night; I am guessing that we got about 5''. I hate that it fell on a Friday night, but we'll take it. Lofton woke up this morning at 7:00am, which he never does; he normally sleeps until 8:30. When he ran out of his room, he immediately went to the back door to "see the snow". My oldest child, Phillip, got ready and went outside about 8:00am to "check things out". Lofton got ready around 8:30 and went out. Landon and I went out for a minute to snap some pictures, and when we went back in, Landon started throwing a fit to go back out; he stood at the door and cried. So, I bundled him up so he could join in the fun, but he only lasted about 5 minutes.
Landon and I came in to get warm, but Lofton and Phillip took off with the sled. I began to get a little worried around 9:30 because they hadn't come back yet. They actually stayed out until about 10:00 am. As soon as Lofton came in the door, he started asking for hot cocoa (as he calls it) to help make him warm. I also put Lofton on the register with a blanket which is how I like to enjoy snowy days. Together we watched Mr. McGorium's Emporium.

Wacky Wednesday
Today, Lofton's class had Wacky Wednesday. To celebrate, Lofton was told to dress wacky, so last night, we picked out a wacky outfit. Lofton chose most of it, and I added a few touches. We arrived at school to find that not many kids were very wacky. Most just had on clothes inside out or two different colored ribbons or shoes. As I walked to my class after dropping him off, I couldn't help but laugh; if he were a teenager, he would have killed me for picking out such a crazy outfit when none of his peers did the same. However, Lofton did not care one bit that he was dressed wackier than the rest. He showed his stuff, and he won first place and a bag of Skittles.
Let's Go Fly a Kite
We had a few really windy days in February, so I tried to find Lofton a kite. I looked at several places before someone finally told me that kites are "seasonable items." Well, since it is now March, I found one for Lofton at Walmart this past weekend. He had so much fun flying it this week. We have already flown it three times, and it is only March 5th. I hope to get more use out of it, but if not, it did not cost much; Phillip did not even think it would work. The funny thing is that we bought one the last time we were at the beach, and it cost quite a bit, and we could not even get it off of the ground. This new kite works so well that I am going to go to Walmart and buy a few more to put up for the future.

Soccer Mom
Well, I am officially a soccer mom minus the minivan. Lofton had his first practice this past Saturday. Phillip said that he listened well, and that he had so much fun. When I asked Lofton how practice went he said, "I kicked the ball hard." I asked him if he kicked it in the net, but he said, "No, we didn't use a net. We just practiced." While Lofton was running off energy on the field ( our main objective for signing him up), Landon and grandfather took a nap!
