Cabin Fever 2017

Our annual New Year's trip was so much fun; I feel as if this was one of the best years we've had.  I so love these traditions as I feel that these are what my kids will remember the most.  We also have a lot of traditions surrounding the trip thanks to our fearless leader Larry.  He always plans ahead very well; he has an itinerary for us each day.  We kicked off the trip with breakfast at Hardees.  Then Larry gave us our cds, and we listened to the first one on our way to Mammoth  Cave national park where we hiked to the sink hole.  It was gorgeous as all the water in the creek was frozen.  Then we got back in our cars and headed to lunch where we've eaten the past two years- Freddy's.  After lunch, we got our second cd which was a compilation of all of our favorite songs. It was a game; we all had to listen to the songs and try to figure out who requested it.  At the cabin the first night, we just unpacked and hung out a little and played Empire- the kids favorite and Burger Time competition then we watched The Great Outdoors which is not a PG movie.  :)  Wow!  PG was bad back in the day.  All of our other days consisted of lots of fun:  hikes, paintball, Empire, arm wrestling, food, casino night, games, talking, question time, learning time when Larry made all the adults teach the kids something.  Some things they learned where how to season a steak, fold a fitted sheet, change a poop diaper, check your oil, perform CPR...
On New Year's Eve we toured Alvin York's home; it was extremely interesting, and we knocked out Landon's 4th report.  :)   We are appreciative and thankful for Larry and all of his hard work in making this a memorable trip.
