Dungeons and Dragons & Movie Day

Marilyn got Levi for two nights this summer.  Since they moved to Murfreesboro, we don't see them as often, and Levi really misses Heath, so this weekend was special.  Thursday night it was just the two of them; Friday night, some of Heath's friends joined them for a Dungeons and Dragons party.  Levi enjoyed the game a lot.  Then Saturday, I met Marilyn at Boro at the Beach and enjoyed spending time with her.

To wrap up summer, we went to the Minion movie and lunch with friends.

Football - Summer Practices & Media Day

Holiday World

Phillip and I chaperoned the youth group to Holiday World.  I decided that I do not like wooden roller coasters:  I felt like I had gone 10 rounds with Ali.  All in all, we had a great time.  Church friends are the best friends.

Pool and Pizza

Amy had us over for pool and pizza, and we all - even me- had fun playing volleyball.  I am not good, but I got recruited by Ella because Jude's team needed another person. I didn't do great, but I didn't do terribly.  I surprised myself.  Joni took team yearbook pics, so there is proof that I played.  :)  We have been blessed with these friendships for over 18 years.  It is great when we all get together.  We are family that we chose ourselves.

Brace Yourself

Landon got his braces off this summer; he wore them less than two years.  He has a beautiful smile.

You've Got a Friend at Taylor Christian Camp

This year God showed up big time and showed me that I was wrong.  This year, Lafayette chose not to attend camp with us, and as much as the kids were disappointed, I too was disappointed.  I worried that it wouldn't be as much fun and that my kids would not have fun and would as a result lose their love for camp.  As much as I have tried to tell them lately that change can be good as we visited other churches, I was not believing my words.  However, God proved me wrong.  Camp was unbelievable.  Clarksville Highway and Joelton were amazing.  The kids of the three congregations bonded quickly; I fell in love with the kids quickly.  We all grew closer together and to God.  We now have new friends in Joelton.  I am so thankful that I was wrong.  Camp was everything it ever is and more.
