Cabin Fever 2020-2021

Cabin Fever 2020 did not disappoint.  Though we thought we were going to be disappointed when we weren't sure that we would get to go because of the government mandate.  However, we decided that we would "break the law" and carry on with our tradition.  In my opinion, the government had ruined enough in 2020, and we were still a free country the last time I checked- at least for now.

We went this year on New Year's Eve.  We started with breakfast in our cars because Covid does control some things.  Then we went on our annual hike and grocery run then headed to the cabin.  We carried on all of our annual traditions- hikes, girl talk, left right center, casino night, paint ball shooting and trivia, hand stand competition, puzzles, Empire, good food and good talk.   We even started a few new traditions that we hope to continue:  dance party and the polar plunge.  Yes, Larry talked Jude and Lofton into jumping in the river with him on one of our hikes.  I couldn't believe it when they stripped down to their Harry Potter and bear underwear and jumped into the river.  Fortunately, for them it was about 50 degrees, so they didn't get sick. :)

We also finally went to RUGBY.  Every year when we pass the Ruby signs I beg Larry to go.  Well, this year we did, and everyone agreed that we go back again.  We want to tour the town when it is opened (Covid ruined that), and the hike was gorgeous.

There really is no better way to ring in the new year than with good friends who have become family.
