A lot Can Happen in Two Minutes

Phillip dozed off during the two minute warning, and when he woke up, he was covered in blankets and toys, and the Titans had tied it up. They'd drug every comforter off of every bed and every pillow off of every bed and had piled them on top of their sleepin daddy, and Landon had gone in his room brought out toys to add to the pile. You think he'd know better than to "rest" his eyes when the boys are awake.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough

The boys, especially Landon, have a new favorite song... "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", and they can't get enough. We listen to it twice on the way to school each day and twice on the way home from school. The cd is in my car, and Landon was begging to hear it yesterday. I didn't want to go out in the rain to get it, so I downloaded it to my playlist. Hence the reason for the new song!

Chocoholic

Someone once said, "There's nothing better than a good friend except for one with chocolate." Landon couldn't agree more. He LOVES chocolate. On Saturday, we went to Gabe's first birthday, and Amy had set up a candy store for the kids. The kids got their own bags, and they got to scoop their own candy of choice into the bags. I was helping Landon, and I asked him if he wanted some of the candy bars, and he wholeheartedly said, "Yes, my favorite." He scored a few pieces, and then he wouldn't let go of the bag. He kept telling me that he was just going to hold it. When we got home, I took it from him so that I could give him a bath, and he threw a fit until I assured him that it was his and noone would eat any and that he could say goodnight to it. I am proud to say that six days later, he still has candy left, but he has had a piece every day.

The other night, he wanted a bite of my icecream (nutty chocolate) and he demanded his own bowl. I put two spoonfuls in a bowl for him, and he said, "This isn't a lot." I convinced him it was, and he happily devoured it. This is what he looked like after he had apparently licked the bowl clean.

Labor Day Weekend

Since I didn't have to work Thursday 9/3 and Friday 9/4, the boys and I headed to West Virginia to see Mimi and Pop Pop. We had a great time visiting family and friends. We got to go to Jim's (my favorite restaraunt), to Camden Park, and to the Marshall game. The week/end flew by, and I of course, didn't get to do everything I wanted, but we had fun.

Gone Fishin'

Last week on one of my days off, I, at the boys' request, took them fishing. Before leaving, I called our friend Jeremiah, and asked him if I could bring our poles over to have him put some line on Landon's and to make sure Lofton's was ready to use. Then, we headed to Drakes Creek Park to fish. I didn't want to stop and drag two boys in the bait shop to spend money on worms, and I forgot to grab a can of corn, but luckily, I had brought bread to feed to the ducks. Lofton was appalled at the thought of using bread, and he informed me that we would never catch a fish, but he was proved wrong when we caught one! I was thrilled at our success until I realized that though I had sought Jeremiah's help in our planning of the trip, I hadn't thought of what to do if we actually caught a fish. I have and still haven't taken a fish off of a hook. Luckily, an older gentleman was there with his granddaughter, and he took it off the hook for us. We then caught one more, and I decided to call it a day. Lofton proudly wanted to call his dad to not only tell him that we caught fish but that we did it with bread.
