Food Drive

Luke 12:48 is Mrs. Dearing's favorite verse:  "To whom much is given, much is required."  Our students always rise to the occasion each food drive and work so hard together to help others.  We have all been given so much; I am so thankful for a school that teaches my children to give back.  This year was our biggest year yet:  $271,248.  Levi and I bagged our neighborhood to get cans.  We went shopping and helped load and unload a lot of food.  It is such a special time at Goodpasture, and it is the true meaning of the season.

Yogurt

Levi really enjoyed getting up each morning and looking for Yogurt.  Yogurt has been with us since 2008, and he still manages to find lots of new funny hiding places and still breaks out some of his old tricks.  He gets us all excited for Christmas.

Thanksgiving Break

This year for our week off at Thanksgiving, Lofton went with Caroline to the beach from Saturday to Tuesday.  Mimi and Pop Pop got the boys on Sunday; they met me in Bardstown.  The boys spent a few days at their house while I stayed home and shopped.  Then on Wednesday, Lofton and I drove to Huntington for Thanksgiving.  It was great to spend time with family and Lofton even went with me and mom on our annual bday shopping trip.  That was fun spending time with him because he is a junior now and I don't spend much time with just him.  We also got to go to Cade's skating party.  What a great week!

Christmas Tradition

I give the boys an ornament each year that basically memorializes the year.  This year, I got Lofton a bow ornament because he really likes shooting the bow and wants one; Levi got a skateboarder because he got a skateboard for his bday and loves it; Landon got a wrestler because he is really enjoying his first wrestling season.

Boys' Annual Hunting Weekend

I think for the last seven or eight years, the boys have traveled to Pop's house in Missouri with the Griffin boys for an annual hunting trip.  This year was special because Pop's is moving, so it is their last year on his property.  I hope they will continue the tradition.  Landon got a deer, which was exciting and topped off the weekend.
