Soccer
Landon has been asking to play soccer for about a year now. He even chose a soccer
bike for his birthday. So, I finally signed him up to play this fall. He has had 2 practices so far, and he loves every minute of it. He talks about how fast he is all the time and how he loves to kick the ball. I can't wait to watch him play!
Tameshiwari...
is Japanese for the art of breaking objects or boards in this case. Both boys broke a board at karate with the first hit. They were so thrilled. It was impressive; I thought it would be a flimsy thin board, but it was actually pretty thick. They got to keep their boards, and they took them to church and Landon showed EVERYONE. The teens were coming up to me in shock that he'd done it. Mrs. Casey, his karate teacher, said his face showed total shock when it broke, too.

Football Time in Tennessee
Our Bible Scholar
Movie Night
For weeks, the boys talked about the Phineas and Ferb movie. Lofton would tell me that it started at "8/7 central." So, on the much anticipated night, I popped some popcorn; Phillip pulled out the air matress, and at 7 central, they snuggled in for the movie. Levi lasted about 10 minutes before I had to entertain him upstairs, and Landon lasted till the end when he fell asleep.

Tent Time
Landon is a head banger, and for those who don't know what I mean, he bangs his head on his headboard or the wall (whatever hard surface he can find) to soothe himself to sleep; it is kinda like his pacy or security blanket. He has been doing this since he was about 4 months old, but either it is getting worse or his head is getting harder because he wakes me up too many times to count. Well, I did count the other night, and he woke me up 15 times doing it, but somehow, Lofton can snooze through it all. However, when we were at my mom's, he slept on an air matress and didn't wake me up banging one time; of course, he was in the middle of a room with no head board. So, I thought I'd try the same thing, but hated to just make him sleep on an air matress. So, Phillip made a tent and Lofton and Landon slept in it. They had a great adventure, but I still didn't get a great night's sleep cause I heard him banging around 12:00. I went in there to find he'd crawled back into bed to use his head board to rock him back to sleep.
Saddled for His Service/ Branded for His Glory
Lofton couldn't wait for this year's VBS cause it was a Western theme, and he wanted to wear his "real" cowboy hat. Landon said since I am in charge of VBS (really I am just the children's ministry coordinator) that next year he wants me to do a pirate theme so he can dress like Captain Jack Sparrow.
