Landon's Ready for Winter

Last week we had some wonderfully warm fall weather, and we took full advantage of it and spent our days outside. Landon took me seriously when I told him that we had to take advantage of these beautiful days because it would be getting cold soon. He worked himself to death collecting acorns! And I am sure the squirrels appreciate his hard work because the acorns are all gathered and in buckets under the deck!

A Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Lofton lost his first tooth yesterday! As we were walking in the house, he announced, "I lost my first loose tooth!" He bent down and picked it off of the ground and barely noticed there was a small puddle of blood on the floor. Normally, blood especially his own would freak him out, but he was so exstatic, he didn't notice. Last night, he asked me to tell him a tooth fairy story, and when it was over, he told me that he was so excited and to leave his door open so the tooth fairy could get in!
At 4:30 am, I was awakened by a tapping on the shoulder telling me the tooth fairy had come. If he woke up this early for the tooth fairy, I am not looking forward to Christmas morning!! ha ha

Student of the Month

Lofton's teacher selected him as September student of the month. He didn't know it until I read him the letter that she sent home with him. He was so proud, and as soon as Phillip got home, he started telling him all about it. We are so thrilled that Lofton is thriving in school. He loves it, and he is doing great. He mastered everything on his first report card and got $5 from his daddy. He comes home everyday and tells me that he "didn't move a stick." (which means he didn't get in trouble)
We went Thursday night to the PTO meeting where he was awarded his student of the month certificate. After the meeting, we stopped by his school book fair and let the boys get a book. Landon was so excited to get his Wubzy book, and then we went out for icecream afterwards. We are so proud of all of Lofton's accomplishments.

Trick or Treat...

Levi in his sweet Halloween pjs with Mimi

Phillip made french toast and a banana ghost for Landon

Super Mario Brothers!

Ella (Velma) and Bailey (Queen of Hearts)

Hangin with Shaggy aka Jude

Mario Bros are popular this year
The gang is ready to go

Fred and Scooby

Landon is happy that Robin gave him chocolate

Handing out candy or bubbles or whatever Amy could find! She had more trick or treaters than she thought.

Alice (aka Casey) and the rest of the Wonderland (Harrington) gang

Trick or treat smell my feet give me something good to eat -preferably chocolate! We trick or treated on Saturday the 30th. At each house Landon visited he didn't say trick or treat; he said, "I like chocolate," and he'd proceed to examine what the treater was giving him. If it wasn't chocolate, he'd help himself to look in their stash to see what they had that was chocolate. It was quite embarrassing, but luckily, he is still little so people thought he was cute. Phillip and I tried to tell him to take what he got and be polite about it; he didn't take what he was given but he was usually polite about it because he'd tell people, "No thank you" if they handed him something he didn't like.
All in all, it was another great Halloween, and I am ready to trash the candy because the kids don't even ask about it, but I sure know where it is. Thanks to the Griffins, too for having us over. It is always fun to trick or treat in a group.

Pumpkin Painting

The boys and I spent one afternoon painting all of the pumpkins that we collected at the farms! And, I didn't get any pics of the carving, but the pics would have been of Phillip because he did all of the work; the boys were more interested in watching the "Thriller" video! MJ is hard not to watch.

The Wheels on the Bus

Lofton got to ride the school bus for the first time last week when his class went on their first field trip to Honeysuckle Hill, our favorite pumpkin farm! He had anxiously awaited this day mainly because he got to ride the bus. He and his friends had a great time; I too had fun with my friends Brittany and Stacy. We all enjoyed walking around the farm on such a gorgeous fall day. The kids enjoyed every minute of the trip, but they were worn out by the end of the day as was I, but I so loved spending the day with my oldest baby, Lofton. And, he enjoyed spending the day with his momma; he told Mimi that he got to eat lunch with his momma and it was a great day. I love these moments and am so fortunate to spend them with him.

Bottom View Farms

We continued the pumpkin farm tradition again this year; we hit up Bottom View Farms in Portland. It is such a nice farm and it is so close to home! We went one Sunday afternoon after the Titans played, and we still enjoyed several hours of fun and were home by 6:45!
