Landon is 2

It is so hard to believe that Landon is already two. He is no longer a baby, and he is insistent that he not be treated like one either. He has to do everything that Lofton does. The other day, he wouldn't let me get him out of the car. I unfastened his car seat, and then he did the rest- climbed out, got out of car, and shut car door. He also hopped across some rocks in the creek the other day because Lofton did it. And as most of you know, he has been in a "big boy bed" for months now. I just can't believe that he has grown up so quickly.

We had a ball at Landon's birthday party

I've Been Busy

WHCA spring fundraiser dinner

WHCA seniors at formal 2009

For the past couple of weeks, I have neglected everything including my blog because I have been a party planner. I of course, planned Landon's birthday party, which was Saturday, April 18th, but this event was followed by WHCA's spring fundraiser dinner on the 23rd and the high school formal on the 25th. I am glad to say that all events went well; I had a lot of help, and I am so glad that it is all over.

WHEW!

Well, I am now completely updated until Saturday when Landon turns two. For those of you who want to see everything we've been up to lately, you may have to click on April to see it all. Some of my "new" posts are already in the archives!
Lofton couldn't wait to get home from church to try out his new Indiana Jones whip, and I am happy to say that it held him up because I didn't realize what he was trying until it was too late! Landon also was glad to get home to play in the sandbox in his new clothes! THere is nothing better than getting something brand new filfthy.

After church, the McConnell's came over for lunch and ANOTHER egg hunt, which was not our last because that evening Presley invited the boys over for another one. Needless to say, I won't need to buy plastic eggs for a few years.

Easter Morning

Lofton helped Landon find his first!

And then Lofton found his... the pics speak for themselves!

Can you tell by the looks on their faces that they wanted to stay home to play with their new stuff?

A Little Bribe Never Hurt...

Last year, Lofton started a new tradition for us when he suggested that we leave the Easter bunny something to eat; afterall, we leave Santa cookies. So, last year, we too left the bunny some cookies, but this year Lofton decided that the bunny would rather eat carrots, so we left him carrots, and it paid off because the Easter bunny left Lofton just what he wanted- Indiana Jones stuff!

Dyeing Eggs

Saturday night before Easter Sunday, I finally got around to dyeing eggs with the boys. Jude had been talking about it earlier in the week when he told me that they were going to dye eggs, but "not like Jesus died on the cross!" And I had every intention of doing this earlier, but I just got busy with all of the egg hunting to stop to actually color eggs that didn't have candy inside.

Both boys had a great time coloring eggs, and Landon even tried to eat one. I guess since the plastic ones have chocolate inside he figured the real ones had to be good!

Landon's First Birthday Present

Landon received his first birthday present in the mail from Jack and Connie last Saturday! I can't believe he is about to turn two. It sure is true that the "days are long but the years are short." Where have those last two years gone?

City Egg Hunt

We went to White House's egg hunt on Saturday. Lofton had fun, but I did not for a number of reasons: it was cold outside; Landon saw the bunny and wouldn't let me put him down; I can't stand to watch adults make a mad dash for the eggs, and in the hustle of parents and children, I lost sight of Lofton for a minute and about had a heart attack, but luckily, his friend Nicholas and him were waiting with Nicholas's mom! I hope I remember all of this when next year's hunt rolls around!
