For Goodness Sake!

I had to post this to remember when Coach Kaiss brought my small group Kit Kats from Japan.  I didn't pay any attention until the girls started gagging from the smell and the taste.  The reeked of alcohol.  I have never laughed so hard!  I had to do my best to not say much at all to the girls, but I, of course, gave Coach a hard time.  The teachers enjoyed them though.  :)

Cross Country 2019

I survived my second year as the head coach of cross country.  And, my team multiplied- I am doing something right.  Love these kids, and love that I can run with them!

Cub Scouts

Here are some Cub Scout pics from his year as a bear- campout at Boxwell, but it was rainy and cold, so we just went for the day.  He did a service project and cleaned up the Cougar Trail, and he started the year with his annual pop corn sale.  He loves Cub Scouts.

Genes and Attitude

I have been blessed beyond measure to have the best granny in the world, and I am not biased:  there is no one like her- no one better.  Not only have I been blessed with a wonderful granny, but I was also blessed to have her in my life for 42 years.  She always said she had good genes, and she sure did.  She lived to be 95- against her will of course, as she always questioned why she was still here on this Earth, but I know she was here that long to bless me and my family.  I covet her prayers  that she covered over me and my crew every day of her life.  I covet her advice.  I am glad that I had her so  long to be able to call and ask for her advice.  She was one sharp cookie and she never forgot a thing.  She could peg people from a mile away, and she couldn't have been more accurate in her assessment of the Walmart mentality we currently live in.  Going to her funeral told us what we already knew:  she left a legacy and she was loved by so many.   We are truly one big blessed family because of her faithfulness to God and to us.  We will miss her more than words can ever describe, but we are so happy for her; she couldn't wait to get to heaven and to see my Grampie.

Friday Night Lights

I have always loved Friday night football, and this year it was so much more fun because Lofton was a part of the team.  As a freshman, he played every game and even started many of them.  He lettered as a freshman.  He isn't afraid to take a hit.  Mrs. Dearing loves to watch someone try to get best of him because she says when someone thinks they've gotten him, he takes them  out the next play.  He is one tough cookie as he always has been.  We are proud of him for working hard and for doing so well.  And, Philip loved tailgating before the home games.
