VBS- Jesus is our Super Hero

Vacation Bible School was a lot of fun this year; at least for the kids! Well, it was fun for me too, but it was exhausting. I along with Becky Boyd wrote the curriculum, and I also taught the 5 & 6 year olds- eighteen of them. Here are some pics from the week.

The "Griffin's" New Pet

Here is a picture of the Griffin's new pet, but I think Lofton is the only one who actually likes it. I guess this is the kind of pet that you have when you get a pool, or of course, when you have a good friend like Amy who purchases two for your son's birthday party!

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th at the Griffins this year since they now have a swimming pool. One would think a pool would suffice, but Jonathan also felt we needed a 50ft water slide, and apparently, he was right. Lofton played on it for about three hours straight. Landon did not go on the slide; he preferred the trampoline and Nooga, Nick and Debbie's dog. We went home for naps and so that I could make dessert. Yeah, I actually made something to eat; it doesn't happen much. Then we headed back for an evening of fun and fireworks, but due to tornado warnings, we thought the only fireworks we were going to see was lightning, and there was a lot of it. But, when we got home, the city put on the fireworks show, and we enjoyed it from the comfort of our garage. It was a great day; thanks, Jonathan and Amy!

Kings Island

Phillip is on vacation this week, so we took the opportunity to spend some time with our family. We headed to Cincinatti on Sunday and stopped at Charles and Jennifer's for a cookout. The cousins had a great time playing together; it was so nice to see them spending time together. On Monday morning, Nana, Pop Pop, and Mimi met us at Kings Island. We spent the first half of the day at the water park, and after naps and dinner we headed out for some rides. Lofton loves just about any ride that he is tall enough to ride; in fact, he thought that many of the rides that he loved last year were too "baby". Landon rode the cars on Monday morning and loved them, but after that he refused to ride anything but the Merry Go Round, which he rode at least fifteen times while he pet the horse the entire time. Phillip and I got to ride some rides too, and I am proud to say that I survived the park's newest roller coaster- The Diamondback. It was a lot of fun. We shut the park down Monday night, and I wasn't sure that I wanted to take advantage of my two day pass, but Tuesday we did it again. We met Charles, Jennifer, and the girls for round two. I thought we'd only stay until lunch, but the weather was perfect and the lines were short so we stayed until 5:00 when Lofton fell asleep riding the train.

It was a great time, and we all are exhausted; in fact, Landon has been asleep for three hours.
