Ode to Jamaica Mission Trip 2025
Jamaica 2025 was a week I’ll always treasure
Serving beside each of you was a great pleasure
Thank you for selflessly giving up your spring break
To do good for others and not for your own sake
This week you let your light shine and worked like saints
But a few of us about lost our religion over yellow paint
We worked really really hard but also had fun
These memories that we made can’t be outdone
Getting those tires out of the ground was really rough
In the race, Elyse fell, but she’s fine; she’s tough
The number of wasps was not very cool
And Eaton needs to learn that not all doors you pull
The wasps were not the only scary pests
Those rabbits caused a few of you quite a bit of stress
Poor Tammy had a leaky AC and a broken door
And a shower that’s water would drip not pour
The creepy Peace Corp man got more paint on him than the wall
Off that short ladder he had to have taken a fall
Anne Michael was not amused by her dinner at Mac’s
If she’s never served that again, to Jamaica she’ll come back
Kate needs McClain to not yell “paint” but “spill”
But her mess cleaned up fast and wasn’t that big a deal
We got Cavar home without causing an Amber alert
And at the airport watched Cole and Grant try to flirt
The bumpy road to Reach Falls I could’ve done without
But the scenery there was the best, without a doubt
We only had a few minor bumps and burns(Oliver) along the way
Until the bed was broken on our very last day
At Kingston airport, Rio mistakenly went in for a hug
Luckily, they didn’t arrest her and take a shot of her mug
Remember that there is “excellence through discipline” in all you do
I hope the lessons you learned this week are more than a few
People will mostly remember how you made them feel
Cause the way your treat others is a big deal
So continue be the hands and feet of Jesus each & every day
And spread His love for others along the way
Good Vibes Only!
