Pitchin Tents in Yard

The campgrounds and parks are closed, but luckily for us, we have 18 acres, so we pitched some tents and enjoyed the cooler nights.  Teague was a bit nervous, so he and Levi bailed, but Landon, Landon, and Aiden enjoyed the big tent that Scott set up. 

Lake Livin

What better place to social distance than on a lake!  We enjoyed the lake with our family a few times over Covid and with the Marlins.  Being outside is what the doctor orders.  Vitamin D never hurt anyone- especially me!  

Fellowshipping with Friends from Church

Memorial Day weekend gave us what we needed- relationships. We realized that the cure of Covid is worse than the virus itself, so we just put an end to the quarantine and had our church friends over.  If this time at home has taught us anything it is that relationships matter.  Friends matter.  Our mental health matters.  We love people and need people. 

Memorial Day Weekend

We caved and had enough of isolation and distancing. We called our best friends and social distanced with them Memorial Day weekend.  We had two days of fun- one at our house and one day at the Griffins.  It was time well spent and so needed. It was food for the soul. 

That's a Wrap- 3rd, 6th, and 9th

We all couldn't have been happier when the school announced that we could end virtual school early.  The boys ended on high notes by receiving honor roll and lots of distinguished awards.  Landon racked up receiving highest averages and Lofton received the faculty award, which is a huge honor voted on by her teachers.  Covid and all, they finished strong! 

Always a Berry Good Start to Summer

In true 2020 style, things are weird.  Strawberry patches didn't have their usual abundance of berries, but thankfully we found a place in Greenbrier and did get to pick a few baskets full and got to make two pies. 

Honeysuckle growing near the house always is a good start to summer for me too.  I love it, and I love that the smell brings memories of my granny to me.
