Another Year Older

We celebrated my 34th birthday at the Cheesecake Factory like we have the past 3 years. It has become quite the tradition to eat there and see Santa. When I told the boys yesterday that we were going to dinner for my birthday, Lofton remembered the cheesecake. Before dinner, Landon chose Oreo cheesecake, and when his meal come he said, "That is not what I ordered; that isn't oreo." However, by the time he finished his dinner, he decided he wanted Reese Cup cheesecake; he and Phillip split though I think Landon ate about 3/4 of it. Lofton and I split fresh strawberry cheescake and I ate 3/4 of it; Lofton just wanted the strawberries and whipped cream. After dinner, we visited Santa. Landon surprisingly climbed right on his lap; I think his email from Santa helped him overcome his timidness. Levi did great in the picture with all 3, but when it was turn for his picture by himself, he cried. He was ready for a bottle, and I hate that he cried since this is the year that he is supposed to be ok with it. Oh well, I guess Levi will have possibly 3 years of crying Santa pics as opposed to 2. Besides being with my family on my birthday, the best part was getting 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep; Levi gave me my birthday wish and slept through the night!

You Better Watch Out...

You better not cry; you better not pout; I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is everywhere! In today's techno world, Santa can now send and receive emails, so he always knows what is going on, and not to mention our elf, Yogurt, is here to spy for Santa. So, the boys don't stand a chance. Luckily, for them, they are pretty well behaved. They received video messages from Santa the other day, and both were so excited. Landon even talked back to the screen when Santa was talking. It was a very special email that they'll never forget. Thanks, Grandfather, for contacting Santa and getting him to do that for the boys!:)

First "Snow" Fall

Last Sunday the boys came running to tell me it was snowing; it broke my heart to see that they were so excited over a few flurries, but being a good mom like I am, I bundled them up and let THEM go out. ( I didn't dare go. See I told you I was a good mom!) Anyways, they had fun despite the lack of snow. Hopefully, we'll get some actual snow soon.

Decking the Halls

We put up our tree Tuesday night, and I gave the boys their ornament, which I do every year. This year I gave them a Nintendo Wii remote ornament to reflect their love for the Wii. They had fun trimming the tree, and they did a good job. Lofton is a little obsessive like me, and he strategically placed the ornaments on all sides. He even remembered where he put each ornament because a few I'd take off and put back in the box. He'd find it and say, "Hey! I thought I put this one right here on the tree."

First Visit with Santa

While at Mimi and Pop Pops, we went shopping and couldn't resist seeing Santa. Of course, we weren't prepared as the boys aren't coordinated, and Levi isn't even wearing a sock. But, the boys talked to Santa and told him one thing each they wanted. Landon wasn't sure he wanted to do it, but he opted to sit on a stool next to Santa. Landon should get over his nervousness since we will probably see Santa at least 2 more times.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend in Huntington at Mimi and Pop Pops. Landon got to spend the entire week with them as he went up the Sunday before. He had a great time being the only child, but we spoiled his fun on Wednesday when we went up for the rest of the week. While there we just ate and visited with family. We love the holidays!

Landon's Ready for Winter

Last week we had some wonderfully warm fall weather, and we took full advantage of it and spent our days outside. Landon took me seriously when I told him that we had to take advantage of these beautiful days because it would be getting cold soon. He worked himself to death collecting acorns! And I am sure the squirrels appreciate his hard work because the acorns are all gathered and in buckets under the deck!
