My Birthday

My birthday is usually kinda anti climatic as we are way too busy during the holidays to do anything. This year, Dr Jones took Becky and me to breakfast, which was a nice treat during our planning period. Mimi surprised me with a delicious strawberry Nuthin Bundt cake, and Phillip brought me sushi for dinner. It was a good day to celebrate the end of my 40s. UGH! 

 

Christmas Parties

We hosted the church youth group Christmas party, and as always, I ended the cross country season with a Christmas lunch/ party in my classroom.  I also got to go to the ladies' ornament party for church this year; we usually have wrestling, but they did a Friday night this year, so I was able to attend. I love all the stuff leading up to Christmas. So fun and such a good way to get into the holiday spirit. 

 

Food Drive 2025

50th year was one to remember! We raised over $300.000, and the seniors almost raised $100,000 alone. It is so great to see God working. He really does turn fish and bread into so much more. Every year, I worry we won't meet our goals, but every year we exceed them. God can do big things. 

 

Elf on the Shelf - A Standing Christmas Tradition

I can't give up Yogurt! I do not move him every day anymore, but I do love to ring in Christmas with him. Levi seems to still enjoy getting up and seeing him. His first appearance this year he wore a singlet that I made out of a sock. 

 

Thanksgiving Break 2025

Thanksgiving makes me sad now that I do not go to my parents. However, time has changed, and I just need to roll with it. Lofton is not home much, so I do not like to make him leave. Phillip has to cater Vanderbilt, so it is not fair to take Lofton away from him, and he has needed us to work the past couple of years. So, we worked for him. We spent the day after work with the Griffins. Phillip and Lofton hunted over the break. We watched the Vandy UT game at the Griffins. It was a fun week and always good to have Lofton home.
