Daytona 2020

It had been way too long since I had some Vitamin Sea, so I begged Phillip that regardless of anything- Covid, his job.... that we would get to the beach this year.  He made good on his promise, and he called his dad to see if we could use his condo in Daytona.  It was perfect because his dad has a jeep and all you need for a day at the beach, so we just drove it down each day, unloaded it all, and we stayed for the day.  We pretty much just were beach bums; we went out a couple times, but because of Covid, we stayed in.  Grandfather and the Griffins joined us for a few days, which made it lots of fun to have others to hang out with.  The boys went deep sea fishing, so that made Lofton's 16th birthday complete as that is what he really wanted for his birthday.

Lofton is 16!

I can't believe that Lofton turned 16; it really seems unreal.  He, in true 16 year old boy fashion, didn't want to do anything to celebrate, but this is a big day, so we had the Griffins and Will Sawyer over to hang out then the crew came over for dinner.  Grandfather helped make the day extra special when he surprised Lofton with a truck.  Lofton thought it was a joke. He'd seen something similar on Tik Tok where parents rent cars adn give them as a joke, but Grandfather seriously handed over the keys to a black GNC truck.  What a gift!  What a memory!

We are so proud of Lofton. He is such a good boy with a heart for others.  He worked really hard his freshman year and ended with a strong 3.6 GPA. He is passionate about sports and fishing and hunting. He still loves video games.  He loves pasta.  He loves the Lord, and we love him.  I hate time is flying by; I miss by baby boy, but I am proud of the man he is becoming.
