Our New Year's Hikes

Time for the Tooth Fairy

January 18, 2017

 January 2017

Not sure why Snow Bird came to the Little Red School house in January because we didn't get much snow in January.  In fact, we had several picnics and played in the creek because we had several 60 degree plus days.  As a teacher, I love snow days, but I really would rather enjoy warm days outside.

Harlem Globetrotters

Julie and I took the boys to see the Harlem Globetrotters on a Sunday afternoon.  The kids loved it.  It wasn't anything like I thought it would be, but it was pretty cool.  Lofton enjoyed waiting in line for autographs on the basketball he bought.  Levi and Teague just enjoyed being together.

I think the boys look most forward to report card day because they know we'll go cash it at Krispy Kreme for some D- onuts!

Lofton loves Vanderbilt, so lucky for him, Phillip gets season tickets for basketball, so one school night in January, he and Lofton got to watch Vandy play Kentucky.  Phillip likes Vandy too, but he really goes to see if he can see Ashley Judd.  ha ha

It's SNOW Luck

This January 2017, we didn't get but a dusting of snow and zero snow days.  We did get out of school early one day because the snow really did come down quickly for awhile, and the roads got kinda bad.  However, once we got up the ridge, the roads weren't that bad, so we went to Super Cuts for some hair cuts and then came home.  The dusting didn't stop the boys from gearing up and trying to play in it.  But even though we didn't get much snow, it was still a cold day to stay inside for games and hot cocoa.
