We had a great week at the beach. I hate that Lofton had to give up All Stars, but there is something to be said for taking time out to spend with family. Someone once told me that 18 summers is all we get, and that sure isn't many. Hard to believe we've already had 12 with Lofton, so I didn't want to give up our trip to the beach since we didn't go last year. We had so much fun, and we even got to spend a day with Chad and Jared because they came down to deep sea fish one day. Fun times. Memories can't be replaced.

A Bittersweet Visit
My Mamaw passed away, so we went home for the funeral. My Mamaw was 92. I have some wonderful memories: she made the best banana bread and corn bread; she always had frozen bananas and Cheese Its for me; she gave the best back rubs; she introduced me to some great old movies and tv shows; we always watched the Price is Right together; she loved her hot water bottle! Although we hate the circumstances, it was nice to go visit our family.

Canoeing
We went canoeing with the Marlins to redeem our last canoe trip that was rainy and cold. This trip was so fun and there was so much sun until about the last half an hour when it stormed and caused Levi and me a lot of anxiety! In his defense, there isn't much comfort in being in the middle of a river during a lightening storm.
