Spring Break 2011

We went with our friends the Griffins to Branson for Lofton's spring break. We first stopped at Amy's mom and dad's to spend the night, and Larry and Sona kept the kids while Jonathan, Amy, Phillip, and I ate our weight in food at Patty's. Then we got up the next day and traveled to Branson to meet Jonathan's family. We first stopped at the biggest Bass Pro Shop where Phillip was in heaven. We stayed at a great resort that reminded me of Dirty Dancing called Big Cedar Lodge. It was a relaxing couple of days; the boys enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tubs. We had a great time with friends.

Levi stayed home with Mimi and had a great time having her undivided attention. When we got home, he was spoiled rotten and crawling!

Hayden Sleeps Over

Our nephew/cousin, Hayden, slept over Thursday night. The boys had a great time together!

Dr. Seuss Week

Lofton's school celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday all week with different activities each day. Monday they wore hats (Lofton wore his coon skin hat, but I failed to take a pic) Tuesday they wore t-shirts from a vacation spot; Wednesday they had a special treat at lunch; Thursday they dressed as a character from a book hence Micah Brooks and Lofton dressed as Things 1 and 2, and Friday was crazy hair day. He really enjoyed all of the special days. Thanks Brittany Burkey for making the Thing 2 costume for us.

Mario Play Time!

Ella came over after school the other day, and when she is here, she is great at keeping the boys entertained by doing something other than playing Wii. She just takes charge and they follow her lead. Well, they decided to play Mario (and they call it playing Mario with real people because they don't use their Mario toys, and they aren't playing it on the Wii.) The boys dressed up and I heard them tell Ella she needed to get her a Princess Peach costume. Then they all came down and wanted paper, crayons, markers, and tape. They made all kinds of accessories to go with their role playing. One thing they made was a question box complete with fire power, star power, and freeze power. They wanted to put it somewhere that they could jump up and hit it with their head, so we tied it to the fan. I wish I could've gotten Ella's picture, too, but she was busy downstairs creating a Bowser out of paper!

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was warm and windy, so Mimi and I took the boys to fly kites. They did great job, and the boys kept their kites in a long time until it came to an end when the kites crashed into a tree. But, it was good cheap ($1 kites) fun, and it lasted for over an hour!

Then we came home and Phillip cooked us a good meal, and the boys worked on their Mario puzzle that we got them for Valentine's Day. It was just a nice night to be with the ones we love!

100 Days of School

Lofton FINALLY had his 100th day of school; it had been very delayed due to snow. For the 100th day of school, Lofton had to make a shirt with 100 items on it. He said he wanted a Mario shirt, so luckily, Pop Pop was here when it was assigned and helped come up with the idea of putting 100 mustaches on it. Pop Pop drew Mario on the shirt, and I cut 100 mustaches out of felt. It was a job, but it was worth it; Lofton was very proud of his shirt.
