Greece

Becky invited me to go to Greece with EF tours, and she ended up having a half of a chaperone paid for, so Phillip took advantage and we both went. The pictures speak for themselves. It was a fabulous trip minus the bug bites that I endured and that scared me to death for most of the trip. I thought I had some sort of staph. Other than that, it was wonderful. It was gorgeous. It was a trip of a lifetime.

For Athens, Greece, we departed on May 28

The five hour layover in Canada was not so great

Neither was the pesto pasta or trying to sleep sitting up

And Phillip walked off the plane leaving his Yeti cup

Cool man Dennis the Menace at the airport we did meet

Then getting 51 of us changed at the beach was a feat

We met our fellow travelers from Texas and Tennessee

But close friends with them, I don’t think we’ll ever be

Our second day we boarded the cruise ship The Gemini

Arriving in Mykonos at 5 o’clock was a big ol lie

The island was beautiful even at night

And the next day, Santorini was a beautiful sight

In Turkey, many people bought handmade silk rugs

I didn’t get one, but I did get eaten by bugs

If you’re gonna be exiled, the place to go is Patmos

If I were John, I would take in the view and never fuss

We can agree losing a day on the boat wasn’t a bad deal

Cause the amount of times  we were late was unreal

But personally, I enjoyed lounging in the sun

And the Greek dance on the pool deck was lots of fun

Dorian/ Jessica also taught Emma Kate to dance

And asked a question every time she got the chance

The shows on the boat were not really clean

Ironically, the Dirty dancing number was not  obscene

To say we killed karaoke is quite literally true

When the WiFi stopped working out of the blue

With her steamer, Melissa blew out the power by mistake

And waking up to no water was the icing on the cake

It was good to be back on dry land

Although for awhile after, Jennifer  could not stand

Off the boat, the memories we made totaled a lot

As we spent many days in Greece that were hot

Jennifer got lots of senior pics and Tanya got many with her flag

And for our Acropolis guide Alex us he liked to nag

In a coffee shop, Hannah probably wanted to flee

But instead to the mad Grecian she just said, “SI.”

In Athens, for Kelly, the pickpocket was not a match

She chased her down, and Georgia’s 50 euros she did catch

Most of us got Gelato everywhere we went

And on food a lot of money Raiden spent

Most did get sick of eating orange/ wet cake

I’ll say that it was dry for Raiden’s sake

Luke’s shopping bag turned his face the color blue

Souvenirs — many of us got more than a few

We also made some pottery that was just so so

It was “Etsi ki etsi” in Greek lingo

I hope for Melissa and me olive oil is the key

And smoother skin we will soon see

No one evacuated for the fire alarm

Fortunately, there was no fire, so no harm

For diet Cokes, Jo Ellen and Jennifer were always on the look out

Sometimes, they could only find Coke Zero, which made Jennifer pout

The last day Poseidon’s temple is where we went

Then a wonderful time by the Agean sea was spent

With a traditional Greek dinner party is how we wrapped our time up

We saw and learned so much: now full is our cup

Unfortunately, after ten days, our trip has come to its end

And back to the states us Dennis has to send

Maybe to Greece we will all go back some day

And to the beautiful country, “Kalimera” we will say
