Basketball Party

Lofton had a great 2nd season of basketball!  He did a great job defensively; he snagged several rebounds each game, and he scored 10 points one game!  We were so proud of him.   His coach is such a great guy.  He took the team to Incredible Daves to wrap up the season.

Lipscomb Game

Phillip and Lofton went to cheer on black and gold at the Vandy game so I took the other two yahoos to cheer on purple and gold with Julie and her crew at the Lipscomb game.  It was Star Wars night, so the kids had a great time; well, with the exception of Levi who was terrified of the characters.

Snow Such Luck

So, we have had no luck with snow this year, but we have taken advantage of the spring like weather.  It has been so nice to play outside at least a few days each week this winter.  We have enjoyed walking on the Greenway,  playing at the park, feeding the ducks, playing in the creek, and eating lunch outside at Sonic.  Of course, we'd love a day of sledding in the snow, but this momma isn't going to complain about the weather!

Super Bowl Sunday

Though Phillip LOVES to watch Super Bowl, he also loves to entertain! He loves having friends over, so he had a lot of our friends over to watch the game. Though I dreaded having 22 kids running around, it actually all went off without a hitch. The kids did great. They also enjoyed the game. They played Super Bowl squares with us, which helped them to stay focused, too. They also made signs and made up cheers and dances. At one point, the girls were doing a commercial break cheer for us and out of nowhere Lofton came and dropped a beat for us! It was hysterical and so cute. I love that he just gets into everything that's going on. He's so much like his momma, but he actually does get more into the game. :) I will admit I enjoyed the fourth quarter; I am a sucker for a close game.

100 Days of School

For Lofton's 100 day of 2nd grade, he was told to dress as a 100 year old man! Decorating a shirt with 100 mustaches when he was in kindergarten was way easier, and although Levi was a newborn, I didn't have as much going on as I did this year, so my creativity was nada! So, I made him a shirt that said, "Way Over the Hill", put baby powder in his hair, and gave him an eye glass piece. Not my best ideas, but I pulled it off!

Buzz Lightyear...

has withstood the test of time! Levi- February 2013 (29 months old)
Lofton- September 2006 (27 months old)
Landon- August 2009 (29 months old)

Two Peas in a Pod

Marley has fit in with our family so well, and he and Landon (as well as me too) have a love for the heater! Marley will in fact monopolize it and put his entire little body on top of it.
I don't know how to even begin this post or if I even want to for that matter, but here goes. On Sunday, January 20th, while we were at our church small group, Levi put his finger in an exercise bike and that's when my nightmare began. I in no way am going to go into all of the details or all of the emotions that I felt because to be honest, I can't change the past. All I can do is move forward. So, to save the scary details, we ended up at Vanderbilt's ER. Doctors were hopeful at first but soon realized that there was no way they could save his finger. It had to be amputated at the first joint. It was crushing news, but at the time, I just wanted them to do something to make him better and if that is what they thought they needed to do then so be it. We got him out of the ER and brought him home about 2:00am Monday morning. We all crawled in our bed, and I slept a couple of hours before jumping up to check on teh boys (who had went to Becky's) and to drop Levi's prescriptions off. When I came home, Levi woke up for a short time, took his medicine, and went back to sleep. He slept till 12:30 Monday afternoon. The boys were so wanting to see him and to make sure that he was ok, that they just sat on my bed and watched him. Lofton sat there for quite some time by himself just watching him and telling me how much he wanted to just give him a kiss. Landon then came in and hung out for awhile with them. THey have such a sweet bond; it is incredible, and I am extremely proud of them. After they were satisfied that Levi was going to be ok, they went to Amy's to hang out for awhile and to get their minds off of things. We were shown so much love and support during this time. The love and prayers are the only thing that got me through. Since Levi came into my life, I've experienced the peace that passes all understanding twice. Once when I was pregnant with him and so worried about him and his health and during this. My mom came up and spent the week with us, which was such a blessing. We were also showered with food and gifts from so many. So, with his brother's support, our support, and the support of all of our friends and family, Levi has bounced back. He was back at church the Wednesday after the ordeal, and he went to the circus with me, the boys, and Pop Pop who also came down to see him. As I write this, it's been two weeks, and he is just sporting a band aide. He's starting to use his hand again, and honestly since about the second day after it happened, he has just been his sweet, bubbly little self! I know that we are extremely blessed. I know that so many parents walk in to Vanderbilt children's hospital with a sick/hurt child but do not walk out with one. I am blessed to have healthy children; I need to focus on that and to be happy for what I do have and not angry or sad for what I don't have.

Basketball Season

Lofton is playing basketball this year and it is amazing what a year can do. He is so much more confident this year, and he really seems to understand the game this year. Last week he scored 10 points in his game! Woohoo. Double Digits; this momma was so proud of her little number 35.

Where's Waldo...

or Landon in this case? Levi had a fun time piling blankets and stuffed animals on top of Landon, and Landon was a great sport and just let him do it.
